ok I have caught 18 queens around 6/1-6/3 I have them set up in test tubes. 3 TT with a single queen the rest 2-4 queens. They all have piles of eggs for almost 30 days now and none have developed. A few of the eggs are turning brown and drying up. What do you think the problem is? BTW I took 2 queens out, feed them and put them in a dirt setup( I'm thinking its the water) to see if the eggs will develop. Oh incase you're wondering they queens ARE mated and came from 3 different...

It's interesting to note that one species is introduced into America. Vollenhovia emeryi was likely introduced with some 3000 or more cherry trees donated by the Japanese. I believe these trees were planted in Washington D.C., Pennsylvanian, and some places in New York.

Spore is a game coming out in September, but the demo (full featured demo costs 10 dollars, free version has 25% of the content) came out recently. If you want to know more about Spore, there is lots of info on google...its hopefully going to be an awesome game.

Take a moment and stare at this picture. There are no ants that I know of. It's a simple photograph of a common blue stone. I took it while anting and thought nothing of it until I started staring at it. Something similar to a psychologists showing inkblot seemed to stir up thoughts in me. Hej all,
I want to exclude ants outside in nature from some plant pots infested with aphids. I tried that with a Fluon like medium, but I am afrait that doesnt work- since of course it is also raining and the Fluon is water solutable. Do you have any suggestions?

HELP,

Ok my son is 5, and loves wildlife so i decided to buy him an antfarm. read lots on the internet and settled on buying a starter set from antstore (set D). with a lasius niger queen and several workers.

received the item in the post, believing it might have some literature with it on what to do. - it did not!

anyhow, i used to have an antfarm as a child (sort of a toy like one) and kind of remember a few thing. so put the sand in the main box and emtied...
