			<description><![CDATA[ I have a colony of Messor Ebeninus which have survived all sorts of problems, and i created a plaster nest which took ages to dry and was wet even after i put
them in (their seeds sprouted loads!) Each day i take the glass lid off and dry the condensation and each day there has been less and and less until 3 or 4
weeks later and it now does not condensate up. i wiped it the last time this morning. This evening they have started gathering together in a test tube (with a

I just caught 6 lasius niger queens in 2 days. I know very little about keeping/breeding ants.. but am very interested in them.

Two of my queens have just laid their first eggs and I am very excited about watching these ants forge their world.

I also wanted to know, how long will it take on average for these very new eggs to grow into workers?

Am real keen to establish antfarm.

Started with having some large offcuts of 10mm acrylic and ply and have built was I think should be great accommodation 2ft x 1ft sub-terrain shaft and 2gal
forage box, some vents and no poss of escape(I think!). I&#39;m thinking BIG - Oh, we got both kinds of ants, bull ants and BULL ANTS. I am doubly motivated by
my misses&#39; hysterical reaction - yesss, of course I&#39;m gunna keep them in the house. I have six year old son who&#39;s... ]]></description>

wondering if it is common to see an ant at this time of year. I heard a supersition that if you see an ant in winter it would mean death to all those in your
house. And now i have seen an ant i am worried. Could  anybody tell me if they have seen any ants.
