I will have 8 vertical hybrid Hydrostone/soil glass sandwich setups. These employ Hydrostone formed around chambers. The chambers are filled with a clean sifted sand. I have noted that young queens of many species of prefer soil and some species are very difficult to get past the founding stage without soil. I have the queen in a separate jar right now... anything I should do with/for her? Or shouldnt do?

My ants in the farm have already dug tunnels.

SHould I let them go and start again?

How can I tell for sure if she is compatible with the ants I have?
