			<title><![CDATA[ Queen ant?? ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ Can you guys help me on identifying this ant, and if it&#39;s a queen? If she is a queen, what are the chances of her being able to lay fertile eggs, since she
still has wings? She&#39;s a big black ant, bigger than my Tetramorium queen. Her abdomen is huge. She has these weird hair looking things coming out of her
mouth. I found her in my pool. Sorry for the bad picture quality, the pictures were taken with my video camera. I am in Kansas City, MO if that helps with the
identification.

			<title><![CDATA[ Accidential Bating (Many Pictures) ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ Well as some of you know, I&#39;m a beekeeper. Recently I harvested honey from the hives. Well all the wax shavings from the cells and bur comb (comb not built
directly on the frame,) seemed to be doing nothing. So I started throwing them out in the compost pile before realizing the mess load of bees they would
attract. Note that my compost pile is strictly for grass clippings and leaves. So the bees came and cleaned everything off, and they&#39;ve since stopped. Well
well what&#39;s left... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ I found this ant in my yard this afternoon (upstate South Carolina).  It is by far the biggest ant I&#39;ve seen, assuming it&#39;s an ant at all, at 5/8&quot;
long.

			<title><![CDATA[ Mystery Ant redux: ID requested (2 photos) (Forelius pruinosus) ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ This is one of the Mystery Ants that I have in my yard.  We recently had some rain after a 2 week dry spell, and I noticed a lot of activity in this particular
colony.  I saw several male alates, and I spotted a female alate today.  Not sure if this ant is a queen, but she has the bulbous yellow thorax that the alate
queen had.  My tape measure is MIA, so I can only guess her size at about 1/8&quot;. (UPDATE: tape measure found, she is about 3/16&quot; long.)  These ants

don&#39;t produce alates this year). Well, from what I read this is a non-aggressive ant. Although, I have seen them attacking a small Argentine ant nest where

			<description><![CDATA[ I found a large red ant walking on the sidewalk, near our pool. I saw another ant like her yesterday, but moved her to a different location so I know they
aren&#39;t the same ants. They are the biggest ants I&#39;ve seen in the area. Other than these two, I haven&#39;t seen any more like them. This ant is red,
and has beady black eyes. It has some stripes on its abdomen. Here&#39;s a picture, though it&#39;s not very good. I am in KC, Missouri if that helps at all.

			<title><![CDATA[ Ants & Eggs Spotted Under Rock ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ When I was in my backyard I tracked an ant colony back to a rock by putting honey on a piece of paper as a lure.

When I lifted the rock yesterday, there were no eggs. When I lifted it today to show my friend, there was about 30 eggs. I did not spot a queen as I didnt want
to startle the colony too much. Later on I looked again, the eggs were being moved.

			<title><![CDATA[ Please Identify Ant ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ They are black in colour, dark dark black. They appear not to like the heat/light to much and obviously dont dig deep as my backyard after a couple inches is
hard clay. I live in Ontario, Canada so they are a species that lives in cold and hot wheather. They are very, very small in size. Found the ant in garden
soil.

some Halifax homeowners&#39; backyards and are stinging people and causing problems. The species was reported to be new to the area, an exotic that had likely
been accidently introduced from the southeastern States--true enough in any case--but I&#39;m really wondering about that ID, based on the following:
