I just caught a colony, queen, and brood included, of Tapinoma sessile.

I stuck them in a tupperware container with a test tube inside, with a tube connecting to a foraging area. They settled in very quickly. I also set up a light to shine on part of the bin to warm it up. I have a thick red sweatshirt over it, too.

I fed them some sugar water in a cotton ball, and a couple of dead grasshoppers. I got an Ant World farm - one of those farms that you keep the ants in a semi-transparent blue gel - at Christmas, and have been keeping a small colony of Lasius niger ants in it.

I now have one queen and eight workers. The queen laid about 7 - 10 eggs back in January. I haven't seen much happen with the eggs and the colony is no longer as active at digging over the last few weeks. It was white at first, but I could see the legs/antenna. Then it turned a darker color, now its black...I can still see all the legs and stuff tucked up.

Ants A (Argentine ants) doing good, have had them since around summer time (forgot exactly when) I caught 3/4 queens when I caught them. I've only seen one at a time so and that was awhile ago, dunno if any of the queens are alive, haven't seen any bodies of them.

Heres how my colony has been doing so far, I dug it up earlier this spring in April and gathered approximately 40 workers and one queen but unfortunately due to bad handling and constant changing of nests they where reduced down to 16 workers and one queen. Then earlier this summer I moved them into a five gallon tank and they stayed there for the summer and brought there population back to 30 workers, I have pictures of that setup so if I find out how I will post them.
