I downloaded the movie in english and watched it today. It was amazing seeing the setup that Dr. Hoelldobler has in his lab. im very jealous.

"Ants-Nature's Secret Power" was on the Arte satellite channel here in Europe last week. Arte is broadcast in German and French (separate channels, same shows). I noted that the version being broadcast was the English language version, dubbed into German on one channel and French on the other. I just finished watching the Spanish version of it. I had the audio muted while listening to my music and surfing the Web. It was a nice documentary. I need to rewatch it again, but with English audio! Ugh!

I saw the companies in the ending credits and found a downloadable QuickTime trailer:

I ordered the DVD from Amazon.de. I reset the region code on my notebook computer to play it because my multi-region DVD player is still in shipment. Great documentary! I watched it in both German and English, and the versions are slightly different. For instance, Dr. Hoelldobler is in a forest by a wood ant nest when he speaks in English at one point, but he is in a lab for the corresponding segment in German. The DVD spends much time on leafcutters. Army ants are passed over. There...
