That's the first I've heard ants could even make silk at all. With this queen and her future colony you could probably never use the ant farms made for basic ants such as what you sell at your store or those who construct them on this site. That will be tricky. Loyal Worker Ant Posts: 628 07/22/2012 4:18 PM	Yes, Formica subsericea specifically, have minor and major workers. Major workers aren't nearly the size of Camponotus maybe that's what you are thinking Antsarecool55. Some might even produce soldiers but I'm not sure on that part.
