My Rhytidoponera metallica queen laid an egg today, and I thought it would be awesome to make a journal! I also do not think there is a journal of this species on this forum, correct me if I'm wrong.
This queen is semi-claustral, and an outworld has been supplied for her. A constant supply of honey is also supplied.
Currently, she has not touched the dead small spider and ants I have placed in her outworld.
Here is a few pictures of the queen with her single egg! She is currently stationed in the tube connecting to the outworld from the test tube. This species cannot climb/walk on plastic or glass, so it should be easy to maintain them within the outworld.
Sorry for the glare!
Any tip on keeping semi-claustral queens would be appreciated!
