Finally, after years of apparent dawdling (actually, just squeezing it in during spare time), I submitted the much anticipated revision of Polyergus. It treats three OldWorld and 11 New World species, five of the latter new.
Here's hoping the editor and reviewers don't ask for too many changes. I'm ready to get this out of my hair.
Spoiler alert: In response to senstitivities and concerns about the flawed analogy of the behavior of these ants to human slavery, I propose using the terminology "cleptergy" and "cleptergic", and host workers, for what are now called "slave-making behavior", "slave-maker" ants, and "slave" ants.
