My 4 year old has a strong obsession for collecting all bugs he can get his hands on. Needless to say June Bugs are here and we had a ton of them, which all died. So I tossed them on top of another dead June Bug that a colony of Solenopsis Invicta had finished. As you can imagine they went crazy over the 30 or so dead June Bug pile. As we were watching them eat away we noticed some super tiny small black ants running around on the concrete. We gave them a drop of honey to see what they would do. They enjoyed the honey for a good 30 mins. or so before we noticed the Solenopsis Invicta took over and shooed them away. I just came back an hour later and they buried the honey with mulch from our flower bed, (I put the honey on the concrete next to the flower bed where the dead June Bugs are). WHY are they burying the honey?
