The only things I might add for other users, through years of keeping Solenopsis (among others) are:
2) Many ant species do not sting, but instead spray formic acid when excited. Take special care when vacuuming these ants so they do not kill effectively fumigate themselves to death.

You may be shocked at how many ants I managed to recover when I found my ants all over my kitchen table. Watch to see how they managed to cross Fluon and how I was able to collect them to place them back into their setup. Hope this video helps some of you out there who may be wondering how to prevent and control escapes.

Assuming this can be taken apart and reused, are you sure the acrylic in the nest portion is not going to get scratched or cloudy?

The pre-made nests you design can't cave in. The most recent model I'd be worried about cave-ins not so much the mold since the outworld is included. In the wild somehow it's managed better by my Formica species. With this recent model is there a way to moisturize without cave-ins?
