I thought it would be interesting to dilute Fluon with alcohol in an effort to reduce the time it takes for the application to dry.
It turns out that the Fluon aqueous dispersion is more more dense than alcohol, and so the two do not mix. Further, the results upon application are streaky instead of smooth. Even if the application keeps insects from climbing the surface, it ranks poorly in terms of visibility.
Does anyone know of an alternative to distilled water that would provide a smooth, fast-drying application, and will not dissolve the plastics to which it will be applied, such as acrylic?
If anyone should test some possible combinations or other enhancements to Fluon (other than diluting with distilled water), feel free to report what happens here in this thread.
