My camponotus chromaiodes colony is over a year old and during that time it has seen very little growth. I still have only about 30 or so ants, probably even less since a bunch have died over the past few days. The queen isn't laying any eggs and the current brood has been stuck in the larval stage for months and haven't grown at all. The ants themselves aren't very active, either. None of them move around the nest and are instead all huddled in one chamber just doing nothing, and only a few go out to forage at a time. I feed them plenty on a diet of that byformica blue gel, but they only seem to be eating enough for themselves and not passing any of it to the larvae. I've tried giving them other things like mealworms, crickets, cooked meat, and fruits, but they keep ignoring all of it. I've become rather impatient and frustrated with this lack of development and I fear if things don't change soon the colony will eventually just die out.
