I know for a fact that this is of the Formica species, found in Minnesota it looks like it could be F. Pallidefulva, but honestly I have no idea. Sorry for the poor quality pictures... I found 3 of these queens so I would also like to know if they allow more than 1 queen in a colony I know that some ants are only like that in the wild thogh and not in captivity. On another note these were located on the edge of a woods and a field of tall grass, their nests were almost identical to regular Formica Fusca and the like. Most of the nests were located right alongside a small dirt path and a lot of them were located in this select area.
