I found THIS on our crabapple tree, which
barely flowered this year and has no fruit. I want to say it was a bit smaller than a US quarter. I've seen a few buzzing around the sunflower patch too.

Odd, I thought weevils were brown.

Answered my own question. The Cocklebur Weevil and I have 3 of
the host plants in the garden. Ironweed (Vernonia), Joe-pye-weed (Eupatorium), and most recently Ragweed (Ambrosia).
