I also wanted to get some advice on my plan to help this colony recover from losses it suffered during collection. I removed the 200-300 queen alates that were collected with the colony. I'm planning on freezing them, unless it's a bad idea to remove all of them from the colony. I figure not having to support any alates this winter would be good thing for this colony. Besides the queens will likely be killed next spring one way or another, since I don't have anywhere safe to release a bunch of wood nesting Camponotus queens. I had planned on feeding the queens to my other colonies after they have been frozen for a while, but I'm a little worried I might give my other colonies something.
