Hey everyone, long time no post. It's been really quiet on the ant front over the winter and pretty much up till now. I've been worrying for some time about the health of my small Lasius Niger colony. The problem started in December when their water ran out. I attached another test tube, all watered up, to the original one, but they refused to moved. Even as it moulded over they remained. I figured they'd move eventually but they seemed content enough to just sit there. I figured they would moved to the other end when the need was great enough.
Then, earlier today, the queen moved across. She's busy drinking at the moment, but none of the other ants have moved, and all of the eggs are still in the dry half of the two conjoined tubes. So I was just wondering, will they move over to her and bring the eggs with? Am I just worrying for no reason? Or is intervention required?
Thanks in advance
