Hey everyone, I need your help! For the past few weeks now my C. penn colony of 11-13 workers will not eat anything sugary! I'm beginning to worry, because the queen and her workers all look so skinny. Their gastors are tiny. They consume any protein I give them (mealworms), but will not accept any honey, honey water, sugar water, and I even tried to give them a small piece of cherry. They won't touch it! And to be honest, its just killing them because half the time a worker drowns in the honey drop Also, the last few days I've noticed the queen literally leave the nest and stumble around in the foraging area while freaking out attempting to look for food. I place honey right next to her and she just walks right past it! I've also noticed that my workers don't usually forage in their foraging area. I open their test tube to put food in most of the time. I became concerned that they aren't being fed enough once I saw the queen leave her nest to forage :/ Are there any other ways I can feed them sugar to fatten them up? Thanks!
