What temperature do ants need to be at to hibernate? I have 3 Tetramorium sp. E. queens with new colonies (about 15 workers and lots of brood in 2 of them and one that's not doing so well, I've had it longer but it has only one worker) I also have what I think is a Solenopsis molesta queen I caught yesterday. The Tetramorium queens tubes are getting crowded and I would like to put the largest colony into a nest. The problem is I don't think I can put a whole nest in the fridge and I live in Utah so the garage can get very cold in the winter. The house is kept at a maximum of 68 degrees F. in the winter, some areas are slightly colder but not below 60.
