Hi all
This information is probably not news for everybody, but on the other hand - it isn't lying around many places.
Storing.
From the BioQuip-website: This product should not be shaken or subjected to freezing. Because it is a suspension, it should be turned every couple of weeks. Shaking causes clumping that is not reversible. I didn't have that information when I started keeping ants, and I ruined a big bottle of Fluon worth about 30$.
Diluting.
I used a lot of Fluon before I found out, that this stuff can be diluted with water – lots of water actually! Experiments have shown, that Fluon used on aluminium-trays, can be diluted 1:256 (Fluon:water) and still be efficient! On plastic-trays, it can be diluted 1:128 and on glass 1:16
A couple of researchers published this note back in 2006, and it has been mentioned several times earlier in this forum. For some reason, it seems to be no longer available online – at least I can’t find it and link to it. But as reference for myself and others, I found a cache-version of it.
