Loyal Worker Ant Posts: 515 07/18/2012 5:40 PM Computerless Species	See told you she would figure it out. Now she is keeping her brood in two different places? The only time I have seen anything like that is when the colony is much bigger and there are more workers to help the queen out with the care of the brood/s. never in such a young colony execpt for when the queen is moving them from one chamber to another. Keep us informed on this if you don't mind.

Major Worker Ant Posts: 330 07/18/2012 7:47 PM	Yeah I'm glad she did! Just checked and they still are separated. Also she seems to have a lot of eggs, probably 20 to 30 total. She's a strange one!

Major Worker Ant Posts: 330 07/19/2012 7:24 PM	She's put all her eggs back in one batch, silly girl. I have a pair of new pictures too! But the quality is still pretty low though... This is my formicarium. Not the prettiest thing in the world but it's solid. Two glass panes caulked together. The tunnels to the left were her initial tunnels that she gave up. The ones on the right you can see her massive pile of eggs between two chambers. And yes it's on a book shelf, I love books too! This is a closer picture of her tunnels, very fuzzy... I'm using macro settings on my camera but I guess the thing just doesn't work all that well. She was currently out foraging during this picture which is great!

Major Worker Ant Posts: 330 07/21/2012 2:52 PM	She's named Etta. I was going to name her Babylon but my grandma wanted her named after her aunt Etta who passed away when I was a wee lad. And speaking of my ant a bunch of her eggs are larva now! Looks like at least 6 of the little buggers and it's only been 16 days in her home. Are grasshoppers good to feed a young queen? If you want crickets you can get one from a pet store for 7-10 cents for one just get a small one and kill it first then put it in and see if she goes for it.

Major Worker Ant Posts: 330 07/24/2012 3:05 AM	The larva are all quite a bit larger now, apparently larva go through growth spurts. She is much less swollen now so she must have been storing food.
