Hi ant friends. I was called out to a house to get rid of some flying ants again. There were about 10-20 ants throughout the upstairs and downstairs, usually along the window sills. This time I can't tell if they are wasps or ants. They look almost entirely like ants except the antennae and legs are a little longer than usual and the legs are a lighter orange color in good light. They were not very strong fliers and seemed to be walking more often than flying. It's also early for any nuptial flights here I think so I'm kind of stumped! The client said that they had seen regular ants in the same places they saw these guys the week prior. I didn't see any worker ants while I was there nor did I find any nests outside. Another thing I've never seen before was their ovipositor was segmented into like 4-6 different appendages that the insect could reach out with and squeeze almost. It was like "The claw" from Toy Story.
What do you guys think? Thanks so much in advance!
