I have received two emails over the past couple of days that I have been unable to answer, so I thought I would ask the question here in order to be able to assist me in answering the enquiries.
First up; a guy in Saskatchewan, Canada emailed me two pictures of queens of a species he was asking an ID on. I thought they might be a Formica species but I have no real idea of the species found in this region. Can anybody help? The only information I have been provided with is the location of the find.
The second enquiry I had from a separate person is as follows:
Thank you for replay my questions.
I still have some questions to ask.
Classification of the ants:
Film : Arthropoda
Class : Insecta
Order. : Hymenoptera
Family. : Formicidae
Genus. : Decophylla
Species. : Decophylla Smaragdina
1a. Base on the classification of the ants that I mention above, is it
produce a large quantity and large egg?
1b. If I may know what the type or name ( species) of the ants that produce
the egg with large quantity and large for the size?
2. If I want to produce the large colony, how to produce or create it?
Many thanks for any help you can offer with regards to the above enquiries.
