I know this is a forum dedicated to ants and I myself like and keep ants.
Recently I developed a curiosity for spiders too. I was wondering if anyone here is willing to help me identify one particular spider as I know that some of you have a good knowledge of other invertebrates too even if these are not insects.
The spider was captured in this area Sintimbru Bai (google maps link) at an altitude of aprox. 1250 m. at the end of the summer (Aug. - Sep. 2014). As you can see on the map, in that area there are many coniferous trees (I do not know if this helps but I guess it doesn't hurt to give more details...).
As for the spider itself - I keep it in a cardboard box with a glass panel on top of it (for now) and I saw that he built a web that covers the surface of the box but does not touch the bottom of the box. Also, he spends most of if time in a web funnel that is situated in one corner of the box. It eats insects and it has shed it's skin about 3 times until now, reaching a size of about 3 cm. (legs included). I feed him different insects (Drosophila melanogaster, Formica fusca - old dying workers, etc).
Here are some pictures of the spider. I tried to catch in them the pattern on it's back and it's eyes (I know it is hard to see in the pictures but it has 8 eyes).
Any help is appreciated!
