Today was a sunny day, after a week of rain. The temperature was around 70 degrees. I didn't find any queens, but I did notice several Myrmecocystus nests, with enlarged entrances. An alate would peek its head out every few minutes before scurrying back underground. I know they will fly soon. From your own experiences, when will the flights occur? Especially with alates crowding at the entrances. At any moment? Or perhaps after a few days?
