How long does it take a mated queen to lose her wings?
If the queen is not mated how long will it live on its own?

1. Max few hours (usually it's a shorter time).
2. In her natural environment not very long. Possibly few hours or days, until she will be eaten by some animal. Regards LOKI |

1. Yes there are cases of queens not dropping their wings. I think this occurence is possibly caused due to their captivity. Captivity produces some "unnatural" effects.
2. There are records of some queens living to almost 30 years of age. A lot, however, depends on the species. I'd say on average 2-6 is a fairly good guess. |
