Ant Farm Populations... |

I have about a 5 gallon plastic aquarium that I was going to turn into a ant farm. The only question I have is would the ants breed until they overpopulate the tank? If so what are the options?
I intend to get a Colony with a Queen. Thank you for any advice you can give me. |

It is possible that you will need a bigger arena for these ants :-)

If you have a queen it will probably happen eventually. I had a colony of about thirty worker in a five gallon and they were fine for a year. I even used the tank as a forageing area wich worked well. I moved them to a ten gallon tank after summer because they seemed to want more space. But I think they had enough space anyway as they acted crazy the entire time I had them.
