I recently tried to 'freeze' my ants so when I placed them with a mated Queen, they would accept her as their own and vice versa.
Sad thing, I froze them to DEATH. There was one survivor who died shortly after...
... thing is, I put the naked pupae in with them (I don't know why...).
After the accident I dumped out the workers and put the pupae in with the Queen who walked right over them (literally) and went to sit by the damp cotton ball.
I don't know if she has eggs, she seems to be tending to something but my question is: if the workers died in the freezing, could the pupae have also?
I guess the only way to find out is to wait but I don't know how long these pupae have been morphing and it would be a bummer to get my hopes up and a month from now the Queen is dead and the pupae have molded up.
