Posts: 2 06/21/2006 9:24 PM	hello I recently caught 3 fertile freshly mated P.Californicus queens is there anyone who can help me out with a specific guide for keeping these queens alive? a how to instruction sheet would be perfect (Ive caught many fertile queens before but I never managed to keep them alive long enough to produce a brood) if you can help in any way it would be greatly appreciated thanks, Kevin

Adult Worker Ant Posts: 256 06/21/2006 10:30 PM Adult Worker Ant	k from what i know with these queen is that they need to be kept warm, so an inbucater would be nice. The nest need to have dirt, she NEED to dig so a sandwhich nest from 2 glass would be nice. after she settle down from digging give her grass seed. keep her in a relitively dark place. From what i been doing pogonomyrmex californicus are very hard species to keep i never had a queen past the brood period. Where are you located btw? amybe they flly around here too.
