Posts: 5364 12/26/2001 1:56 PM Doc.	Four new ant sculptures to add to the collection. The cleverest and coolest-looking is one from Mexico, made of discarded nuts, bolts and valves from a car engine. I guess I oughta post a pic at Kuene's some day. I also got Gotwald's "Army Ants..." book which is a nice review. I haven't found much which is new to me yet, several chapters into it. And one can tell that there was a long time getting it written, evidenced by minor disparities between curent knowledge and what's in the book, or worse, between what's in the front of the book and the later parts. Still, I would recommend it for any serious myrmecological bookshelf, especially as a guide to the original scientific literature on the amazing, army ant morphological/behavioral syndrome.

Loyal Worker Ant Posts: 716 01/03/2002 3:38 PM	I got a bar of soap from my college cousin with a winged ant inside (plastic). Then I got a cool pair of goggles that were a model of how insects see. The purpose for me to get these was toadd special effects to home made movies. Fun stuff! I have used all the soap and now the ant lies on top of my computer. Reminding me of this place.
