Kuene: That is what I meant... Make the size bigger but not full screen. Since the lowest resolution is 640x480, make it like 400x300 or something.

On krungkuene.org/cgi-bin/an.../browse.pl with large image URLs, you should remove the image (with brackets) tags since we don't want posters to be including the huge images in their posts. Just make it like:
alpha.zimage.com/~ant/banner.jpg instead of  This way users can click on the huge images (e.g., 1600x1200 pixels resolution) to view it. but maybe the large images are not that big, like your borgant where the thumb is larger then the original file.
or an other example:   or some Black and white gifs are often large in pixel-size and small in file-size. |

i could write the image tag only if the file is smaller then some thing.
what would be the max filesize for an image to post here? 30kb or so? |

How about resolution size? Say if the image has a width or height resolution more than 600 pixels, then don't use image tags.

why is the resolution size important? (and i don't know how to read it)
if the file-size is small it will not make the loading slow even if the resolution is high. i belive a file-size limitation is better. |

Kuene: But remember JPEG has compression capability. People might use no compression and it makes the image file size very BIG.

i don't understand, that's why i want to limit the file-size.
if the file-size is over say 30kb or 20kb or whtaever i will not print the image tag but only the link tag. is that not ok? if people make no compression they have a huge file-size and the image tag will not be printed. but if they compress it the pic they will have high resolution and low file-size. and they can post the image. |

Kuene: Hmm, that would work too. You can do that way if it is easier. I just don't want to see a 500KB JPEG file that is only 400x300 resolutions (low compression).

but how big would you like the max file-size to be? 20kb should be enough or not? |

I'd say 100 KB (about 30 seconds on a 26400 modem connection).
