Not sure if this applies to C. penn., but here it says about six months.
www.google.com/search?hl=...worker+ant -- (third one down seems most accurate) "The average life span of an adult worker will be sixty to one hundred and fifty days, while the queen ant can live up to ten years." ^^^RIFA www.ars.usda.gov/main/doc...docid=3611 projects.edtech.sandi.net...fespan.htm -- Says "Carpenter ant workers live for 7 YEARS" All of this information is so different, it'd be nice to get a Doc. in here to clear things up. chazzbo77

Well it realy hard to get accurate result because in the wild, most ant dont die naturally(squish).

My best guess would be around 6 months to 2 years depending on the cast of the worker, and how well the ants are kept.
