I keep finding Lasius neoniger flying the past few days but I can't find any landing and shedding their wings, I was only able to watch them fly.

found a lasius neoniger queen today actually i found 1000 of them everywhere they are cool!

Found five L. neoniger today and two yesterday. Seems they're flying like crazy everywhere now.I've noticed that in just a few hours their
gastor has visibly expanded! I will try to catch more tomorrow. Doing a test tube run tomorrow, as well!

L. neoniger has probably mostly flown out in NB, but watch for smaller flights on sunny days following cool and wet.

Thnx for the advice! im so glad now b/c its supposed to rain tomorrow then the next day it is going to be nice and sunny! hopefully i can spot a queen and have
a colony started by spring!

Lasius latipus flew again here in NJ, and I'm told in IL Lasius flavus
was mixed in with L. neoniger over the weekend.

nuptial flight of lasiuses, carpenters, and one other brown ant species on 9/23/09. i personally caught over 30 ants
