Hello everyone and thankyou for the help you will hopefully give me.
I live in Prescott Arizona (northern Arizona) at about 3500-5000 feet elevation. Not the rockies. Grassy and some areas have pine forest.
Under a rock, i found an ant colony. There were more than 200 ants.
The ants were incredibly small and there was at least 4 queens i believe.
I caught all 4 and about 50 workers.
The queen as a long-big butt(gaster)? compared to the rest of her body. She(they all) are about maybe 2 mm in length(if that). Width: less than a mm.
The ants with the queens are All- -DARK BLACK. Under a microscope it looks like the queen has TWO balls(two segments) in between the thorax(middle part)? and the butt.
These ants arent aggressive at all. and they are very small. The worker ants themselves are less than a mm in length/width.
Under A microscope these ants are SHINY.
All of them are shy.
1. Question is HOW can i take care of these tiny little creatures? possible? i have eggs and workers.
2. So these ants have multi-queens? and that works out for them?
